Katy Scott
I’m a writer and magazine journalist based in Sydney, Australia.
Before relocating to New South Wales in April 2009, I was the editor and feature writer for the Perth-based wining and dining publication Menu Magazine, where I had a great time learning the ropes of publishing. The rest of my working hours were spent at a major mining company, doing everything from writing speeches to designing Christmas cards.
My undergraduate degree (completed in 2006) was a Bachelor of Communications majoring in Film and Video. This gave me experience in presenting, acting, camera operation, video production, scriptwriting, studio management and all the other bits and pieces that come with television and filmmaking. A year later I hit the books again, emerging in 2007 with a Graduate Diploma in Communications specialising in Journalism.
I love to write articles - anything from news stories and music reviews to humorous features, fun fillers and blogs - as well as sub editing, web maintenance and fiddling around with images in Photoshop.
I’m currently the feature writer and editorial assistant for the magazine Beautiful Country Crafts.
